Born in 1984 I started to play guitar and drums when I was a kid. As a teenager I played in rock bands, followed by jazz ensembles and big bands, until I started to study „jazz and pop guitar“ at the ArtEZ Conservatory Arnhem / Netherlands. After four years I graduated with a „bachelor of music“ diploma. During my studies I played concerts and started to work as a professional musician. Since my graduation I live in my hometown Cologne as a freelance artist.
Concerts and tours brought me around the world: besides Germany and the Netherlands I played in France, Luxemburg, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Iceland, Ireland, Great Britain, Faroe Islands, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Poland, Taiwan (R.O.C.), Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Jordan. Especially the tours funded by the Goethe Institute (German Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to asia deeply influenced me.
Since a few years next to all the different types of guitars I play the oriental lute, called Oud or Aoud. I have a turkish and a syrian instrument and I appear as an Oud player in various ensembles.
Music not only brought me to many different places but I also got to meet many people. In bands and projects, in studies and workshops, on concerts and tours, in recording studios and in art academies and conservatories I have met many people from different parts of the world. Each encounter broadened my horizon. Focusses of my work are concert tours, intercultural projects, improvisational meetings and working bands, mostly with singers. It also fascinates me, when different art forms merge, like music, film, theater or dance.
I teach privately in my own rooms. My lessons have different focusses, depending on the interests and on the level of each individual student. If you are interested in my lessons, please contact me!
